HISTORY OF LOTUS FLOWER THERAPIES
Lotus Flower Therapies first opened its doors on 6th
March 2008. Offering Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Reiki and Hopi
Ear Candling, and most recently On Site Massage.
I held an
Open Day in April at Forge Fach Community Centre, Clydach, Swansea
offering taster sessions of the above therapies. I had an excellent
response and people found it a useful way of finding out if
Complementary Therapy in Swansea, would work for them.
I work
from home or make home calls.
WHO IS LOTUS FLOWER THERAPIES?
I am Lotus Flower Therapies. My name is Maria
Rees.
I am a single mum of three, living in Swansea, and
this, my business is run on a part time basis. My main profession is
Nursing, I am a registered general nurse working in Morriston
Hospital.
I have been interested in Complementary Therapies
for many years, and finally decided to do something positive by
enrolling on courses, which I enjoyed immensely and benefited from by
being practised on by other students. The therapies I offer are
described on other pages for you to read at your own
leisure.
Below I have put in chronological order the courses
that I have currently undertaken:
- Reflexology - Level 3 Certificate - through the International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies at Neath/Port Talbot College, Wales, in 2003/2004
- Indian Head Massage - Level 3 Diploma - through Vocational Training Charitable Trust (formerly International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies) at Swansea College, Wales, in 2006/2007
- Reiki - first degree - Usui tradition with Zodiac Complementary Therapy Training, in 2007
- Reiki - second degree - Usui tradition with Zodiac Complementary Therapy Training in 2008
- Hopi Ear Candles (Thermo-Auricular Therapy) with Zodiac Complementary Therapy Training in 2009
- On Site Massage with TEACH Therapy in June 2010.
- Holistic Body Massage with TEACH Therapy in 2014.
- Hot Stone Massage with TEACH Therapy in November 2014.
- Cupping Massage with TEACH Therapy in February 2016.
I aim to undertake further courses in the
future.
I am also a member of the Federation of Holistic
Therapists, (FHT), and am insured by the Therapy Insurance Services Ltd.

We live in a

workers, super everything and all this is stressful to the mind and
body.
We all need to give ourselves time, time to unwind,
time to think, time to reflect.
At Lotus Flower Therapies my
aim is to help you to unwind, help you to give yourself time to think
and give yourself time to reflect.
As you lay on a couch or
sit in a chair gentle music will help you to unwind while I offer you
one of the therapies of your choice. This time is YOU time, not
something that enough of us are willing to give to ourselves, and is
very therapeutic to every day life.
